Mother’s day!

I have an amazing husband. He knows how to make my mother’s day great! I woke up to flowers, gifts and handmade cards :)

After a busy day at church we headed to my Grandma’s to spend some time with my mom and grandma. Days like this make me so grateful to have my family so close to me and to have such amazing women in my life.

The biggest news of the day was that my Grandma got to go outside for a little while. She is unable to walk now and almost never goes outside. It was such a blessing for her and I was so glad she was able to get outside and enjoy the beautiful day for just a little while. My cousin was able to get these pictures for me.

I love this picture! This is a 3 generation picture of my sister, grandma, me and my mom.

DSC06003What a blessing it is to have my grandma her with me. My kids get to grow up knowing who their wonderful Grandma Burch is. Funny story. Ethan has a hard time remember which grandma is who. So he often tells me that his grandma Burch is the sitting grandma and his grandma Withers is the standing grandma. Funny kid. Bridal Shower for Shannon

Jared’s little brother Jimmy will be getting married this summer and we are so excited to welcome Shannon into the family. While they were here visiting we had a really fun bridal shower at Color Me Mine. We each painted a bowl that we will give to them at their wedding. It was a great way to spend time together and to make some fun pottery that Jimmy and Shannon will get to keep. And they will think of us every time they use your bowls.

Down on the Farm

Ethan’s cousin Fisher had a birthday party at Hee Haw Farms. Madelyn and I got to join in on the fun too and I’m so glad we did. It was such a fun party and a perfect place for a bunch of preschool aged kids to run around.

The first thing the kids ran to were the goats. The goats were a little crazy but the kids didn’t care. They quickly realized that they could feed the goats with the corn from one of the corn boxes.

Capture the Joy

I follow a photographer named Kristine Duke. I think she has amazing photos and is inspiring. She is starting a fun little "get together" (as she is calling it) called Capture the Joy. It's all about taking picture of your loved ones with you in the picture too. All to often mom's are the photographer and not very often in the picture and I am totally guilty of this. So when I read what she was doing I thought I'd join in too. So each Monday I'll be posting at least one picture of me and my loved ones and how I capture my joy from the previous week. I'll be posting these pictures on my scrap blog so that I can keep this blog to just close family and friends. So if you'd like to follow my adventure come on over.

Do you want to play too? Just go HERE for all the details. I'd love to see your pictures. And she has a way to play along with instagram!

Opinion

Okay blog readers I need your opinion and thoughts. I've made some changes to the blog and want to know what you think. Do you like the larger photos? Are the photos too big? Is the blog now too wide for you computer screen? And does it take a long time for our blog to load when you first come to it?

I'm trying to figure out the best and easiest way for me to blog but still make it look good and have large enough photos for everyone to enjoy. (I love photos!) So please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Shan

On a hunt for eggs

This year for Easter we went to my mom's for a yummy dinner and an egg hunt for the kids. At first Madelyn was not sure what to do and gave me a look of confusion. But will a little help she got the hang of it.
Ethan was pretty excited for the egg hunt and moved faster then I could take a picture. So sadly I only got a few shots of him hunting.
The kids and all of their loot
Cute Aunt Jenny and Madelyn
And we can't forget the best part. Opening the eggs and seeing all of the fun stuff inside.

Easter morning

On Easter morning the kids woke up to find this...
They were pretty excited
Here are my two cuties all dressed and ready for church in their new Easter outfits.

Egg coloring time!

The kids had a blast coloring eggs this year. Little miss Madelyn loved coloring on her eggs with crayons and then watching as the eggs changed colors. Brandon and Sara joined in our fun too.
Ethan of course thought it was so fun and asked to eat one of his colored eggs every morning until they were gone. These pictures capture Ethan's enjoyment and excitement so well. Just look at his face!
My cute kids! I can never get them to both look at the camera at that same time and smile.
The finished eggs
