A new camera

I really want a new camera. And not just any camera I want the big girl kind. A DSLR. The problem is that they are really expensive and I have no idea what kind to get. So I’m asking all of my friends and family to give me their two cents about a big girl camera.

What camera would you recommend and if you’ve taken any classes or read any book or have a blog or website that you follow I’d love to hear about that as well. I’d love to learn as much as I can before I make a purchase and once I have the camera I know I will have a lot to learn so please share your camera knowledge with me.

I almost bought the following camera and it came recommended by my dear friend so right now this one is top on my list. But when it came down to buying it I missed the awesome deal that was going on and realized that I really need to save up before I buy a camera. cannon

Father’s day

This year for father’s day we had dinner at my parents. I tried to get a good photo of Jared and the kids but of course that never happens.

DSC02869DSC02870One of my favorite moments during this day was watching my dad with the grandkids. Here the kids are helping my dad water his garden. My dad is a wonderful farmer and always has a beautiful garden.

DSC02873Madelyn loves to swing and I mean LOVES! She is always asking to have some push her in the swing.DSC02876DSC02880DSC02879DSC02877I feel very blessed to have such an amazing father, father-in-law and husband in my life. They are good men who work hard for their family and strive to be righteous men.

Swimming with Grandma

Jared’s mom was here visiting a few weeks ago so we took the kids to the pool. It was my first time to the Scera pool and I have to say that I love it! It’s perfect for young kids and it wasn’t too busy. Ethan and his cousin Fisher are the best of buddies. They play well together and always have fun. They were like two little fish in the water.

Madelyn figured out she could make the water splash by stomping her feet.

Mr. Jenner was a big fan of the water and by the end of the day he wanted to follow Ethan and Fisher around. The kids had tons of fun and it was a great way to spend our day with Grandma.

Orem city days

When I was a kid we’d go to the carnival almost every year and watch the parade during AF Steel Days. So I wanted to do that with my kids this year during Orem’s Summerfest. I was really excited about it and Friday night we headed to the carnival. For the most part it was great. Ethan had tons of fun but Madelyn was getting sick and only enjoyed a few rides.

DSC02853DSC02854DSC02855DSC02856DSC02857photo 2photo 3 photo 1photo 4Saturday we had plans to go back to the carnival and then watch the parade and fireworks. Only the wind was blowing like crazy and Madelyn had an ear infection. So we didn’t go. Hopefully we’ll make it another parade and watch some fireworks some where else. It’s fun to do things like this and spend have some good family time.

Happy Birthday Jared

Just a few pictures from Jared’s birthday. IMG_0857  DSC02847DSC02848 We were in St. George for Jared’s birthday and enjoyed every minute of it. It’s always nice to take a weekend way from our every day routine and spend it with Jared’s family. DSC02852A few fun pictures from our ride down. We stopped to grab some dinner and when I turned around to talk to the kids I realized that Madelyn has stuck her bunny behind her head for a pillow. She is such a silly kid. Preschool Graduation

Ethan’s preschool has a graduation at the end of each school year. He has now completed his 1st year and did a great job. He loved school and is sad that he won’t have school until the fall. DSC02832In this picture his teacher is introducing all of the kids. When she said their name each kid took a bow.DSC02833Then his class put on a little concert for us. Each kid got to choose their favorite song from the school year and the class performed it. Each kid put on some kind of costume to represent the song. Here are some videos of a few of the songs.

Ethan’s favorite song was about Santa and he got to wear a Santa suit. But we had camera problems right as he was about to sing so I used my phone to record his song. This video is a bit rough but you can still see him and hear him.

Once they were done with their concert the kids went into the house and got their caps on. Then his teacher called each kid out and handed them their degree. If you only want to see Ethan come out and get his degree you’ll want to start watching at about 2:30 min. He’s the very last one :)

It’s crazy to think that our little buddy is already done with his 1st year of preschool. We sure love him and are proud of the things he does. DSC02844 DSC02843My mom was able to come and watch his graduationIMG_0835IMG_0834Ethan with his teacher.DSC02846DSC02845
