Milk Party!

One of the great things about having your child turn one is that he not longer has to drink formula. I think this is more exciting for mom and dad then the actual child but I tried to make it a fun celebration. My sister and her husband came over for dinner so she brought some Oreos and I had the milk. I fed Ethan Oreo cookies and he got to drink a nice sippy cup of milk. It was mmm, mmm good!

Forward Facing

This is kind of old news and maybe it's not really news at all but Ethan is now one and weighs 20lbs. which means that we get to turn his car seat around. I thought he'd be all excited and make all kinds of faces when he got to watch out the windshield but he was actually more interested in watching me drive. These pictures are from the first day he sat facing forward.

Oh Christmas Tree

Last year I had this great idea to make Christmas tree ornaments with our pictures but I never got around to doing it. So this year I decided to finally do it and I think they turned out great. I made them using my wonderful computer and all I had to do was print, cut, paste and hang.

Trouble!

One day while I was at work I was in the bathroom cleaning the floors. Ethan was with me just having a grand ole time playing with a water bottle. After a little while I realized that things were really quiet. I turned around to find this...

No at first I wasn't too worried, it looked like just a little bit of toilet paper but I was so wrong! This bathroom has two toilets that face each other so when went looking for Ethan here is what I found...

Ethan had completely emptied BOTH rolls of toilet paper. I wanted to be so mad at him but all I could to was laugh. So we cleaned up his mess and it filled the garbage can. Good thing the lady that I clean for knows what it's like to have kids and is so easy going when it comes to things like this.

Note: I didn't have my camera with me so I had to use my camera on my phone. That's why the pictures aren't so great.

It's fun to be ONE!

To add to the excitement of our busy Halloween weekend we had Ethan's 1st birthday party. Here's a few pictures...

This is Ethan with his cousin Lucy. I couldn't get him to stand still long enough for me to take his picture, so I had Lucy stand by him in hopes that I could get a picture of him with this cute hat and shirt.

Here's Ethan eating his very first slice of pizza. These next few pictures are of him opening his presents...well really I opened the presents and tried to get him to help me.

He LOVES this toy. He pushed it around all night and now that we are home he seems to always have it in his hands. Not only does he push it around be he also picks it up and shakes it.

Now on to the best part...the CAKE!

At first he wasn't really sure what to do. He just touched it and then kept his hands on the cake. But once he realized that he could it eat cake was everywhere!

It was a fun party and I'm still trying to figure out what happened to the past year. Time goes by too fast...way too fast. But I sure love this little guy!

Witches Night

One of Jared's mom's favorite places is Gardner Village. During Halloween they have lost of fun Witches on displays and do fun witchy things all month long. She wanted to go see the witches so we decided to have a little fun and dress up as witches ourselves. It was a girls night out and I think everyone had a good time...I know I did.

I also made this scrap page...

Pick out a pumkin

Just down the street from us is the pumpkin patch. It's a place where kids and go walk through a corn maze, see some fun animals and pick out a pumpkin. Here are a few pictures of Ethan picking his first pumpkin.

Unfortunately we didn't even carve our pumpkins until Halloween day and we didn't even finish them. We didn't even have them outside and light on Halloween night...oh well!

Halloween

We had lots of fun this Halloween! We went to a trunk-or-treat, trick-or-treating with our family carved a pumpkin and I got to dress up as a Witch. Take a look!
This is my smiley guy in the car ready to go trick-or-treating.
Our first stop was to see an old friend...the Halfords. Every year they have a fun Halloween party and make yummy homemade root beer. This picture is of Ethan trying to grab the smoke.

Next we went trick-or-treating with Jared's sister and all of the cousins. Here's Ethan ready to go with his pumpkin in hand and he already has some candy.

Due to our busy day Ethan didn't get his afternoon nap so he feel asleep while we were trick-or-treating and missed out on all the candy.

He finally woke up once we got to this awesome house in AF. The yard is full of fun and scary Halloween stuff. There's even a movie playing on giant blow up screen and a spook alley for the kids.

Ethan and all of the cousins standing in front of the Halloween house.

Next we made our way to Great Grandma Burch's house to see the Withers side of the family. This is Ethan and my niece Adysen, she's little red ridding hood.

It was a fun, busy & somewhat stressful Halloween (stressful cuz our car broke down on our way to trick-or-treating but no worries it's fixed now)

Picture Tag

My old roomie Chelsea tagged me with a picture tag. You have to take the fourth picture folder and post the fourth picture in that folder. Then you take the sixth folder and post the sixth picuture in that folder. Explain the pictures and then send the tag along.
Here are my pictures...

This is taken at the hospital while I'm in labor with Ethan. We arrived at 9am and as you can see on the clock on the wall it's 1:20pm. Unfortunatlly we don't have Ethan until 9:30pm. It was a long day and I took this picture to show just how long the day was. I think Jared got sick of waiting and waiting and waiting. I know I did. I just sat in the bed and watched football with Jared.

This is another picture from our last photo shoot with Brittney. I'm trying to get Ethan to smile but he's just looking at me like mom what are you doing!

I tag Brittney, Leslie, Kristy, and Jenalee

Happy 1st Birthday!

Today is Ethan's first birthday! We can hardly believe that our precious little boy is already one. It's sad to think that he's grown so quickly but we are also excited for the years to come. We love our little boy so much and we feel so blessed to have him in our lives.
