McCall Day 1

This year our big vacation was going to McCall Idaho. Jared’s Brother (Jimmy) was getting married so the whole family headed to McCall for the wedding and then made a week long vacation out of it. It was heavenly! Just a heads up I have a TON of pictures so enjoy!
We left bright and early on Monday morning and had a 10 hour drive ahead of us. The kids did great on the drive. I was really surprised at how well they did. I made sure they had plenty of things to do and we made plenty of stops along the way. Here we are all packed up and ready to go. Did I tell you that we LOVE our van :)

It was so nice to finally get to our hotel which was really nice and very clean.

That night was pretty relaxing. We spent some time with Jared’s parents and sisters including dinner and then walking around town. McCall had some of the most beautiful sunsets!

McCall Day 2

Tuesday morning we headed to some hot springs at a place called Burgdorf. It was way up in the canyon and in the middle of nowhere but a fun place to hang out for the morning and afternoon. I have never been to a hot springs and we really surprised at just how hot the water was.

The fun part of this place was the neat surroundings and fun places to take some photos. We had all the kids get together in front of this truck. It’s not very often that we get all of the grand kids together at one time.

After lunch we headed back to the hotel for some down time and to get cleaned up for the family meet and greet. This was a dinner that Jared’s parents were doing where our family had a chance to meet Shannon’s family (our soon to be sister-in-law).

After the meet and greet all of the girls went to Jimmy & Shannon’s to help make the center pieces for the wedding luncheon. Amy (my sister-in-law) brought a whole bunch of different flowers and we each got to create a bouquet of flowers. It was so fun and a great way for everyone to add their own touch of love to the wedding.

McCall Day 4 (part 1)

Thursday was a very special and exciting day. On this day we had a surprise birthday party for Jared’s mom. She was turning 60 so we wanted to make it extra special. We had a garden party complete with yummy food, garden party hats and a candy.

We started the day off with secretly delivering an invitation and hat to Jared’s mom. Then it was off to the park to set everything up and decorate. The cute doily banner was made by the grand daughters. They spray painted them and then attached them to the string. Each girl decorated their own hats too.

We were all expecting Jared’s parents to come into the park from the front so it was a big surprise when we saw them walking from this direction. Madelyn was so excited when she saw grandma she ran to her from across the park.

After lunch we had the best part of the day. We gave Jared’s mom her birthday present.

This has been in the works for MONTHS. We had each grandkid color a picture of their favorite memory of grandma. Then we quilted and sewed each picture together to create this BEAUTIFUL quilt.

I love these pictures because you can see just how happy and excited the kids are to tell grandma which picture is theirs. It was a joy to help create this quilt and I know Jared’s mom will cherish it forever.
