Our Month of May

May has been a busy and exciting month. For Mother's day Jared and I gave our moms a card that said..."We have a very special present for you but it won't be ready until October 29th. Here is a picture of what you'll be getting." Inside a wrapped picture frame was this picture.
Yup that's right we are having a baby and he/she will be coming October 29th. We will find out if we are having a boy or girl on June 18th so make sure you check back to find out what we are having.

Jared and my little brother Brandon celebrated their birthdays this past week. Jared turned 27 and Brandon is 19. I can hardly beleive that my little brother is getting ready to go on a mission. He seems too little to be all grown up. Brandon is getting ready to turn in his mission papers and soon he will be on his way to serving the Lord for 2 years. We are very proud of him and so excited. He will be the first missionary of our family.

For Jared's birthday he got this nice new grill so we fired it up and had a BBQ on Memorial day. Jared sisters and their kids came over to enjoy yummy food and water. Here you can see Maci & Race sliding down the slippin' slide. Oh to be a kid again.

Our New Home

Jared and I just bought our first home! It is located in south Orem and is in a very nice neighborhood. Last week was our first Sunday to attend our new ward and Jared and I had to speak in sacrament meeting. They don't waist any time getting to know the new members in this ward. We are starting to get settled and really love our new home.

Here you can see Ryan getting ready to paint our living room. We decided to paint a few rooms before we moved in and it became a much bigger project then we thought.

We had to clean all the walls, patch all the holes and try and pick colors. We went through a few different colors before we finally found something we liked. Painting is not as easy as we thought and a lot of hard work.

New Years & Zions

New Year's day we took a nice walk in Zion's National Park. Jared's brother Jimmy LOVES this park so we took a family drive to the park and spent the morning walking a trail and taking lots of fun pictures. It was a cold day in the park but beautiful!

The Holidays

This year Jared and I spent Christmas eve and day with my family. We stayed up late waiting for Santa to come and to pass the time Jared and I made this gingerbread house. We had a wonderful holiday and enjoyed being with my family.

We went to St. George and spent New Years with Jared's family. Here are a few pictures of our exciting last night of 2006. We are playing Mexican train which we tried to play a few months ago but that was a disaster because the instructions that came made no sense...at all!

So New Years eve we decided to give it another try and this time with some better instructions. Once we figured out how to play it was lost of fun but you couldn't tell that from these pictures.

Here fishy, fishy

Do you see the fish? Neither do we but they will be coming soon. Jared's dad so kindly lent us his aquarium and we spent one night setting it up and buying lost of fun fish stuff. We plan to fill it full of fun and unique fish. So stay tunned :)

Go Margy go!!!

Jared and I saw Margy in action this summer.
She played soccer and did a great job.

SAY CHEESE! Mom and sister Lucy sit on the
side lines cheering Margy on!

Pizzeria

While Jared’s family was visiting we hosted a pizza party. But this was not your ordinary pizza party…I made fresh pizza dough and everyone got to make a pizza of their choice. Here you can see Jared trying to toss the dough and the yummy pizza Margy made.

A rainy day at the zoo

Jared and Mom

Grandma and the kids

While Rachael and the kids were here visiting we went to the zoo in hopes that the sunshine would come out. But it didn't and the rain came down and the floods came up. The kids seemed to have a pretty good time seeing all the animals and running around in their ponchos. Even though it was cold and wet we made some good memories.

FORE!

One of Jared's favorite past times is golfing. Jared, Jamason and I went to Sleepy Hollow golf course and I was the caddy. Here you can see just how good these two golfers are and me driving the cart. It was my first time on a golf course and I couldn't get over just how beautiful it was. No wonder people love to golf.

Silver Lake

Jared got a tent for his birthday and Jen and Beau got one for their wedding...so what do you do with tents? YOU CAMP! The whole family got together and went to Silver Lake for the weekend. We went swimming and rafting in ice cold water, ate great camping food and tried to keep the bugs away. It was just like camping when we were kids but this time I got to sleep in my own tent with my husband.

Come on Beau row!

Wedding bells are ringing again

Jenalee and Beau tied the knot on June 15, 2006. These two love birds met in high school and have been together ever since. Their wedding was beautiful and very special. We are so happy for them and excited to have another brother.

Tomatoes, Peppers, beans...

Tomatoes
Peppers
Beans

This summer Jared and I decided to start a garden. My grandmother has a place for a garden at her house but the land has not been used in years. Jared, my dad and brothers dug out the tiller and worked that dirt all night long. Soon after we planted tomatoes, pepper (hot and green), beans, an eggplant, radishes, carrots, cucumbers, and zucchini. Unfortunately we forgot that in Alpine it is very windy and that gardens need a lot of water. So we lost a few plants but have been able to keep some. Here are a few pics of our 1st garden!

Mexican Riviera

For our honeymoon Jared and I went on a cruise to Mexico. We spent one week on this HUGE ship with thousands other people and a lot of food. You could eat something at any time of the day. We had a great time and were able to see a lot of beautiful things. Here you can see our smiling faces on lover's beach.

This was take just before we got on the boat.

In Mazatlan Jared and I took a ride in what seemed like golf cart. This cute driver told us all about Mazatlan as he drove us from on side of the town to the other.

My favorite part of the cruise was at Puerto Vallarta. We did one of the shore excursions called Rhythms of the Night. You took a boat ride to a hideaway beach haven of Las Caletas. Where we were served dinner on the beach and ate by candle light. After dinner we moved to the outdoor amphitheater for stories of an ancient civilization revealed through music and dance.
I LOVED it!!!

We ran into the missionaries while walking on the beach and they were so excited to see us and took our picture for us.

At Puerto Vallarta Jared and I decided to walk up and down the beach. This cute boy followed us and asked us to buy something from his cigar box. We bought a package of Chiclet gum and he took a picture with Jared :)
