My little boy was born. I can hardly believe that he is two. I know I said that when he turned one but now it's really true. I look at him and he is my baby now more. He's getting so big! We celebrated his birthday last Saturday and I think it was a hit. We had a Mickey Mouse party! I had tons of fun planning and and I think everyone who came had fun. I'll be posting about that later. I've got tons of pictures to share :) As for now I'll leave you with a few picture of Ethan from that past 2 years.

Jared's little helper

Ethan has always been afraid of loud noises especially the lawn mower. But today he over came that fear and became daddy’s little helper. He “helped” Jared mow the entire lawn today. I’m pretty sure it took Jared twice as long but Ethan had fun!

1st Movie

Jared wanted to go the movies so we decided to see how Ethan would do if we took him along. We went to see UP, got him his own seat with his own bag of popcorn and hoped for the best. At first he loved it and really enjoyed eating his popcorn but after about a half an hour he got restless. He got up and down and in an out of his chair, then he wanted to run around so we took turns taking him out into the hall. We both really like the movie and probably won’t take Ethan back to the movies until he’s a little older.

What a helper

Ethan LOVES to help me cook. He loves to help me stir. So one day while I was making bread I let him stir the flour and while I wasn’t looking he ATE it! What a mess!

Then last week I made some peach jam and he insisted on helping me so I gave him a butter knife and let him cut up some peaches. He was so happy to help me!

Fun with Dad

On Labor Day I had a fun day with my mom, sister and a few friends scrapbooking. Jared had the day off and wanted to do something fun with Ethan so he took him to the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point. Jared said Ethan had a lot of fun and really enjoyed playing in the sand and water. I’m so glad I have a good husband to do fun things like this with Ethan AND he took pictures for me!

Let's play catch

One night when we had scouts the boys brought their baseball gloves over to play catch. Ethan thought it was the greatest thing ever and he wanted to play too. When the boys put down their gloves he ran and picked the up and wouldn’t give the back. So when we went to the store that night he came home with this…
his very first baseball glove. He was very excited and made Jared sit on the floor in the kitchen and play catch with for at least a half an hour.

24th of July

This year for the 24th of July we had a BBQ at Jen and Beau’s and then watched the fireworks in Mapleton. I brought some sparklers to the BBQ and Ethan and Addy LOVED it!

We went to watch the fireworks at Mapleton because Ryan (my little bro) is a volunteer fire fighter. We had front row seats for the short, but good fireworks. We were sitting right underneath the fireworks. It was pretty neat!

More baby contest pics

I finally got these pics from my mom. These were taken the day of the baby contest. In these first few photos you can see that Ethan really did nothing but sit there and stare at the ladies judging him.
Once he got his balloon though he was all smiles and talk.

Here he is holding his prize

And here is my cute little niece Paycee.

He's a winner!

American Fork (my home town) has their city days celebration in July. This year my mom put Ethan and my cute little niece Paycee in the baby contest. American Fork only did one winner per age group and my handsome little guy won!!! I was totally shocked cuz he didn't do anything, nothing, zip, zero cuteness for the judges. All he did was sit there and look at them. I couldn't get him do any of his cute tricks. So when they called his name I was so excited and totally surprised. He won a cute little stuff alien and a gift card to a local baby clothing store. Then we got to be in the parade! It was fun and Ethan seemed to enjoy it but it was so hot!

Camping with the Vidoni's

A few weekends ago we had the annual Vidoni camp out and it was so much fun! Over all the weather was great but a few nights it was really cold. We arrived Thursday afternoon and spent most of the day setting up camping and exploring our camp ground. Friday we had a b-day party for Race, went hiking and roasted marshmallows.

Grandma Vidoni was making lunch for everyone on Friday and she had 3 little helpers.

Lucy, Jocie & Ethan

Happy Birthday Race!

Mmmm cupcakes!

Here are a few pictures of us hiking but the trail was closed so our hike was really short. Ethan got to ride in this awesome backpack. He thought it was great!

All the kidos hiking

We also went to the Ice Cave where pioneers stored their ice. It was pretty cold in there. You can see that everyone is standing on a pile of snow inside cave.

Later that night the boys were breaking up some branches to add to the fire and Ethan wanted to do it too. Jared's holding the branch so that Ethan can step on it and break it. He's so funny! He wanted to do everything the older kids were doing.

Jared's mom had a fun story for the kids about how she had found some magic beans and she wanted the kids to plant them and see what happens.

Here's Ethan planting his bean.

and here's what it grew

Saturday was the 4th of July and We started the day out with a nice flag ceremony conducted by Jared's dad. He taught us about flag etiquette and then the kids each got their own little flag to take care of.

Then I did a fun craft with the kids making sock puppets. They seemed to really enjoy making them and it provided hours of entertainment. These kids have such a good imagination!

After lunch we headed over to the lake for a little fishing. Here's me helping Ethan cast his line and reel it in. He thought this was so much fun.

I think that each of the kids were able to catch a fish and Jared caught a ton of fish...I think like 12 or more.

After fishing and dinner we had family pictures taken by Ray's awesome girlfriend Amy!

Then it was a trip to Cedar City for fireworks to end our wonderful 4th of July and Vidoni camping trip. I'm so glad we do this every year and I hope it's something we can keep doing.
